Discover the Joys of Stand-Up Paddleboarding while Exploring Portland’s Scenic Waterfront
This beginner-friendly tour starts off with a quick SUP lesson, then your licensed Maine SUP Guide will lead you on a leisurely paddle along the scenic Portland waterfront. Along the way, you’ll catch glimpses of rugged islands, lobster boats, beautiful lighthouses and historic forts. We always spot a variety of marine birds, and often seals and other wildlife. This trip is a great way to get a taste of SUP and the Maine coast.
On any SUP tour, you should be prepared to get wet! You’ll certainly get a little damp while paddling, and it’s always possible you’ll lose your balance and slip into the water for a quick dip. We’ll provide all the SUP gear you need, including a dry bag (for your phone, camera, snack, or extra layers). The SUPs we use for our tours are suitable for paddlers weighing up to 250 pounds.

Dan sea kayaked the length of the east coast of the United States in 2009 with his wife and in 2018 was the first person to SUP the coast of Maine. He also really enjoys surfing and canoeing as much as possible.
