Winter Season Paddle
Winter guided tours are complete for the season! Please see our Summer Guided Tours page for our summer offerings, and check back in the fall for winter 23-24 events. Keep an eye out for this summer’s early morning social paddles as well!
These two-hour guided trips depart from the SMCC boat launch in South Portland. The group will paddle past the Spring Point Lighthouse, and then either along the shoreline towards Portland Head Light or across the channel to Cushing and House islands.
It’s sure to be cold, so we will provide drysuits, hand protection and neoprene booties for your feet. We suggest wearing non-cotton layers underneath your drysuit; avoid baggy clothing. We plan to run this trip as long as the waters in Casco Bay are fairly calm. This trip is limited to those with prior sea kayaking experience required.
- Adult Ages 16+
Come join us for a wintery paddle in Casco Bay!
It’ll probably be cold, but we’ll provide drysuits to keep your core dry and neoprene gloves to keep your hands warm. Prior kayaking experience preferred. Departs from the SMCC Boat Launch behind the Maine BioScience building off of Slocum Drive.
